A Black Cat Crossed
Chasing Chasing Red Again
Another poem inspired by my man CORTEZ during his last weekly livestream — going down every Monday — in which he finishes an original poem in real time.
A more thoughtful intro to CORTEZ can be found here.
A Black Cat Crossed
these bugs used to crawl on your body but now they crawl on mine i don't see them anymore but i don't see you either and yet i feel you all the same the rings of your ribs rose up and down like hills beneath your spotted fur 8 feet wide 8 feet tall 8 feet gone and in the hollow of your throat a thread we lost so long ago that law that once read this life is mine hidden in the blood of that itchy ankle i had to scratch so long ago
